Frequently Asked Questions

一般常见问题

Residential life is an important part of your liberal arts college experience, all students are expected to live on campus. Doing so gives you opportunities to learn, make friends and have fun.

Any exception to this policy must be approved by the Office of Residence Life.  For incoming students, please complete the Permissions to Live Off-Campus Form (PDF).

If you are a first-year student, you'll be assigned to either Walters or Winship Hall. You have the option to select your own roommates using Please Don’t Snore, a roommate-matching software. If you don't select a roommate, the Office of Residence Life will match you.

We assign transfer students across all our halls based upon availability.

If you are a rising sophomore, 大三或大四, you'll participate in a housing selection process during the spring semester. You'll choose your assignment based upon a seniority point system.

Agnes Scott will email your hall and roommate assignment in mid-July for fall semester and early January for spring semester.

Mattresses are twin extra-long.

All residence halls have microwaves and refrigerators in their common areas for residents to share. In addition, you're allowed to have a mini-fridge in your rooms. While you may not have small appliances such as coffee machines and toasters in your room, but you may use them in the common kitchen spaces.

You can remain on campus during semester or holiday breaks. You are required to register for Thanksgiving, winter break and spring break. Remaining on campus during winter break will require a fee. Dining halls are not open during the break periods, and campus services are limited.
Resident Assistants provide guidance and support to help you resolve any roommate challenges. Please ask your RA for help with your situation. RAs will often facilitate mediation. 如果问题持续存在, the RA will turn to the residence life graduate assistant of their building or other residence life staff to help resolve the issue.
Safety is our first priority. Supporting students who are facing challenges is one of our primary goals. Regardless of the situation, getting help is very important. 请参阅我们的 Department of Public Safety page for campus safety resources.
